Banana, avocado & walnut breakfast smoothie
Good morning my friends! I had to share my favourite breakfast smoothie at the moment. I'm usually all about green smoothies but lately I've been really enjoying this silky creamy combination. It's only lightly sweet and the soaked walnuts make an incredible nut milk base. The consistency is almost mousse like or like soft serve if you add a handful of ice. Bliss!
1/2 cup walnuts (soaked overnight then rinsed)
1 frozen banana - cut into chunks
1/2 avocado
2 cups water
2 teaspoons maple syrup or rice malt syrup (optional)
1 handful ice
generous pinch cinnamon
pinch turmeric (optional)
Serves 2
Place all ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth and creamy. Pour into a tall glass and sprinkle additional cinnamon on top. Serve immediately.
